Have you, or teacher you know, ever said any of these phrases?

"I don't know how much longer I can do this job."

"If I could just get this one kid out of my class, everything would be better."

"If I let that kid get away with (insert poor behavior here) tomorrow everyone will be doing it!"

"You can't let them see you smile until Thanksgiving!"

If you can answer "YES" to any of these questions, you have come to the right place!

Educators are tired, overwhelmed and overworked. We take the weight of the world on our shoulders and are not given the tools to be successful.

Who is paying the price for these ineffective toolboxes? Everyone! Teachers, students, and parents.

I created this website because I was tired, tired of the power struggle with students, tired of wondering how to motivate my students, and tired of wasting my life counting down the days to retirement.

I looked online for answers and there are a lot of answers out there. But when I looked at who was writing the advice, I was shocked! Most of these blogs and websites are written by people who have only taught a few years and/or are not in the classroom at all!

I wanted experience, someone who has actually been in my shoes and knows what I am going through. I have been teaching for over 20 years (since 1997) and I still struggle everyday with the issues I write about in this  blog. The answers aren't easy to find, but the questions are SO important to ask. I hope you still question best practices everyday! And I hope together we can love teaching again! Check out THE FORUM to ask fellow teachers questions you have been pondering.

This website is designed to give you the tools to fill your toolbox. If we can learn how to positively interact with students, create an environment we are happy to be in, and learn to effectively handle the day-to-day stress, we can change the narrative for teachers.

If we can change the narrative for teachers...we can change the world!
